Cognitive Task Analysis for Designing Learning Organizations.
Friday June 20, 2025 8:00am - 12:00pm EDT
Cognitive Task Analysis is a suite of methods for studying how proficient performers achieve high reliability. CTA has been applied for nearly 40 years in scores of domains characterized by pressured situations. By understanding how the most proficient perform, learning interventions can target the critical knowledge and strategies necessary to build and sustain reliability. This workshop will introduce the principles of CTA and expose learners to some basic but powerful CTA techniques, including the Critical Decision Method, an incident-based approach to interviewing that enables capturing performance and situation features.

Introduction to Speaking IN®  LIMITED
Friday June 20, 2025 8:00am - 12:00pm EDT
Introduction to Speaking IN®
Are your employees willing to “speak up?”
Research shows that across the globe, most are not. This leaves organizations and potentially yours, unable to learn what is needed for work to go well, and how to support a thriving employee experience. Key to fixing this problem is shifting from the failing “speak-up” strategy to a science-based strategy that will work. Speaking IN® is a science-based strategy that allows leaders to create the open communication needed to unlock learning in a simple, sustainable way.
The Speaking IN INtroduction is a story-based approach that equips you with the why and how of speaking IN®. We will explore the power of diverse perspectives during a real-life unexpected event. We’ll also examine the assumptions, attitudes, and actions influencing outcomes in complex high-risk work. Most importantly, we will practice the foundational Speaking IN skills to create trust and unlock learning.

Friday June 20, 2025 8:00am - 12:00pm EDT
Part 1 is "Solidifying HOP Basics"
This course will address some of the reasons companies struggle with the implementation of HOP.  We now have years of experience providing examples of those organizations that do well, and those that struggle.  It is common for companies to have an initial interest in HOP but hesitate to fully commit to its implementation.  Hence, they slowly move towards a HOP approach without an official commitment.  By the time leaders are sold on HOP, numerous process/culture corrections will be required.  These changes will be significantly reduced by solidifying the HOP Basics from the very beginning.

AI-Powered Tools for Enhancing Workplace Productivity in Real Time
Friday June 20, 2025 1:00pm - 5:00pm EDT
AI-driven tools are revolutionizing workplace productivity by providing real-time insights and support to employees. From intelligent task automation to AI-powered virtual assistants, these technologies help workers streamline workflows, reduce cognitive load, and make data-driven decisions more efficiently.

During a conference presentation on this topic, the following subtopics and activities could be explored:

1. AI-Powered Productivity Tools in Action
• Task Automation & Workflow Optimization – Demonstrating AI-driven project management platforms that analyze workload distribution, suggest prioritization strategies, and automate repetitive tasks.
• AI Virtual Assistants & Chatbots – Exploring how AI-powered assistants enhance workplace efficiency by providing instant information retrieval, scheduling support, and troubleshooting assistance.
• Real-Time Data Insights & Decision Support – Showcasing AI tools that analyze performance metrics, detect bottlenecks, and offer actionable recommendations for improvement.

2. Enhancing Collaboration with AI
• AI for Team Communication – Exploring AI-driven transcription, summarization, and real-time translation tools that improve team interactions.
• Smart Meeting Assistants – Demonstrating AI tools that generate key takeaways, track action items, and ensure follow-ups are completed.
• Predictive Analytics for Team Performance – Discussing how AI can analyze communication patterns to identify collaboration gaps and suggest improvements.

3. The Future of AI-Driven Workplace Optimization
• Emerging AI Technologies – Exploring the next generation of AI-powered tools designed to further enhance productivity.
• Ethical Considerations & Human-AI Collaboration – Addressing concerns around AI’s role in decision-making and ensuring AI complements, rather than replaces, human workers.
• Interactive Q&A & Live Demonstrations – Engaging the audience with real-time demos of AI tools in action and discussing practical implementation strategies.

By integrating AI into daily workflows, organizations empower employees to work smarter, enhance collaboration, and drive long-term success. A conference session on this topic would provide valuable insights into how businesses can leverage AI to create more adaptive and high-performing workplaces.

You’ve rolled out HOP. Your teams know the language. But how do you make it stick—especially when the change agents move on?

This energizing half-day workshop is for HOP practitioners and leaders who want to go beyond short-term wins and build something that lasts. Part 2 "Taking HOP to the next Level" LIMITED
Friday June 20, 2025 1:00pm - 5:00pm EDT
Part 2 "Taking HOP to the next Level"
This course will discuss specific ways to take HOP from a “Safety” initiative to a “Business” initiative.  One of the main points will be a discussion on what HOP has done versus what HOP is capable of.  The purpose of HOP is to Proactively Prevent “Unwanted Outcomes” due to human error.  The Focus Here is UNWANTED OUTCOMES.  Unwanted Outcomes are any errors or mistakes that could result in Injury, Mission Interruption or Physical Damage.  The reason for these specific terms is no one can claim HOP doesn’t apply to them or what they do.  At a minimum, every employee has the potential to affect Mission Interruption.  HOP is an Everybody Plays commitment.
