As William Bridges noted in Managing Transitions: "Change Management is a misnomer--change happens instantly, its the transition that needs managing". Or as the 'old' American proverbs warns: "It is unwise to jump a 20 foot chasm in 2 ten foot leaps". HOP is not something that changes what we do...it changes who we are. There is a new purpose, process and identity. However, the HPI/HOP road traveled in the past few decades are littered with failed programs, broken promises and unrealized outcomes. Successful implementation of any new process or alteration to any existing program requires as the right amount of effort in the right areas by the right people--quite often, this simple principles gets missed when transition occurs. Participants in this facilitated Open Forum (roundtable) will share specific strategies and tactical practices for reducing the pain and confusion caused by the implementation of any new process or program to help everyone benefit through this transition.
