About me
Alexandra Watral is an Assistant Professor of Health Care Systems Engineering and a Data Science Analyst in the Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery at Mayo Clinic.
She received her PhD in Applied Cognitive Science and Human Factors from Michigan Technological University. Her research interests revolve around healthcare and underserved populations with projects focused on optimizing workforce workload and decreasing burnout, using motor learning as a behavioral biomarker for dementia progression, and improving systems to prioritize access to resources for individuals experiencing homelessness with high-risk medical conditions. Dr. Watral has worked with a variety of academic, health, and government institutions including Michigan State University, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Minnesota Department of Corrections, and Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.
Dr. Watral has presented at numerous conferences across the country and internationally and enjoys sharing her work with both practitioners and researchers.
